Alertus Partners with Associations to Provide Emergency Notification Grants – Campus Safety Magazine

The new association partnerships will allow for the distribution of emergency notification grants valuing up to $75,000 on an annual basis.

Alertus Technologies, a provider of emergency mass notification solutions, announces its partnership with several national and regional associations to provide emergency preparedness grants for K-12 schools, universities and churches.

The emergency grant partners include the National Association of Campus Safety Administrators (NACSA), the Northeast Colleges and Universities Security Association (NECUSA) and Peace Officers for Christ (POFC).

“Working with association partners provides us with a great platform to reach local communities across the United States that want and need to strengthen their emergency preparedness,” says Ryan McGonigle, Director of Philanthropy at Alertus. “We’re excited to take our philanthropy initiatives to the next stage with organizations that share our commitment to improving community safety.”

These new partnerships will allow for emergency preparedness grants valuing up to $75,000 on an annual basis.

The program is an extension of the Alertus Desktop Donation program, which has provided over 700 non-profit organizations with the Alertus Desktop Notification tool. With these new partnerships, Alertus will be able to expand its grants program to support more organizations across the United States, according to the press release.

“The number one question our association gets is about emergency alerting,” says NACSA President Tom Saccenti. “We have found a number of our members, particularly smaller institutions, have multiple systems in place to manage their mobile safety application, mass notification, digital display alerting and panic alarms. The beauty of Alertus is that they tie this entire system into one, affordable product making it the perfect solution for these campuses.”

How to Apply

In order to apply for the grants, applicants must be a registered non-profit organization or a government entity such as a school, library or public agency. Here’s more detailed info:

  • NECUSA is accepting applications from September 2 through November 1; NECUSA members can apply for the grant here.
  • NACSA is accepting applications from September 2 through December 31; NACSA members can apply for the grant here.
  • POFC is accepting applications from September 2 through December 21; POFC members can apply for the grant here.
